在留期間更新 Extension of Period of Stay
在留期間更新は在留期間が満了する概ね３ヶ月前から申請可能です。以下の申請方法に従って早めに申請してください。
Extension applications are accepted approximately 3 months prior to the visa expiration date. Please apply early in accordance with the following application procedures.

◆申請方法
Step 1: 以下の書類を紙媒体で教務チーム窓口へ提出、もしくは郵送でお送りください。「在留期間更新許可申請書（所属機関等作成用1-2）」の発行には1週間程かかりますので、お早めに依頼してください。
1) 在留期間更新許可申請書（申請人等作成用1-3）-A4・片面印刷
必ず写真を貼り付けてください。写真の規定はこちらをご確認ください。
2) パスポートのコピー
3) 現住所が記載された在留カードの両面コピー
4）返信用封筒（角２サイズ：表面に住所氏名を記載し１４０円切手を貼付したもの）郵送で受け取りたい場合。

Step 2: 「在留期間更新許可申請書（所属機関等作成用1-2）」を教務チームから受け取った後、必要書類を揃えて出入国在留管理局にて在留期間更新許可申請を行う。大学が提供するビザコンサルティングサービスにて申請代行も行っておりますが、有料となります。
＊必要書類については以下をご確認ください。
＊在学証明書等は自動証明書発行機でご自身で発行してください。遠方の方はホームページを確認し郵送でご依頼ください。
＊国費証明書や研究生の証明書等、自動証明書発行機で発行できない証明書は、ホームページを確認し教務チーム窓口もしくは郵送でご依頼ください。
Step 3: 審査完了の通知が自宅に届いたら、出入国在留管理局へ行って新しい在留カードを受け取る。
Step 4: 新しい在留カードの交付から14日以内に、新しい在留カードのデータをこちらからアップロードする。

◆Application Procedures
Step 1: Submit the following documents to the GSFS Student Affairs Team or send them by postal mail. It will take about one week to issue the form of Application of Extension of Period of Stay (For organization part 1-2). Please request it well in advance.
1) The completed application form 1-3 (For applicant) -A4, single-sided printing

2) A copy of passport
3) A copy of your residence card with the latest address stated (front and back side)
4) A4 size self-addressed return envelope with a JPY140 stamp along -If you wish to receive the Application by post

Attention : Extension of Period of Stay
Step 2: After you receive the Application of Extension of Period of Stay (For organization part 1-2) from the Student Affairs Team, please prepare all required documents and apply for an extension of period of stay at the Immigration Office. The university provides a VISA Consulting Service that can apply on your behalf, but there is a fee for this service.

*Certificates of enrollment and other certificates can be issued by the automatic certificate issuing machine. If you live far away, please refer to the website and request by postal mail.
*For certificates that cannot be issued by the automatic certificate issuing machines, such as MEXT scholarship certificates and certificates for research students, please refer to the website and request them at the Student Affairs Team office or by postal mail.
Step 3: When the screening process of your application is completed, the Immigration Office will send you a notice by post. Go to the Immigration Office to receive your updated residence card.
Step 4: Upload the data of the updated residence card (front and reverse side) from here within 14 days after receiving it.
