新領域の成績評価について
大学院新領域創成科学研究科の学生の成績は、原則として、優・良・可・不可の４段階の評点によります。ただし、４段階で評価するのが適当でない授業科目（ガイダンス的な授業など）については、合格・不合格の２段階の評点によります。
新領域開講科目においては、優以上の評価が履修学生の3割に限られる、いわゆる「優３割規定」は適用されません。
当研究科では、GPAは採用していません。
成績証明書の記載について
単位を取得しなかった科目（不可、不合格、未受験）については、成績証明書には表示されません。
令和6（2024）年度成績評価の確認について
授業科目の成績は定められた期日より、学務システム（UTAS）で確認することができます。必ず期間内に各自評価を確認してください。成績の評価に不明な点がある場合は、成績評価の確認申請期間内に新領域創成科学研究科教務チーム（柏キャンパス基盤棟１階）へ申し出てください。

単位移行
博士課程学生（在籍３年目以降） は、修士課程において必要単位数を超えて取得した単位を１０単位を限度として、定められた時期に博士後期課程の単位数に移行するための手続きを行うことができます。

留学の単位認定
新領域の学生が留学又は休学（休学理由が「海外の教育・研究施設において修学」の場合に限り）により外国の大学の大学院において専攻分野に関する授業科目（実験・演習ともに含む）を履修した場合、当該専攻で単位の換算及び成績評価を行い、学術経営委員会の報告を経て、本研究科の授業科目の単位の認定をすることができます。
研究科においては、 「新領域創成科学海外演習Ⅰ ～Ⅴ」によって単位認定を行っております。海外留学の単位認定は１５単位まで行うことができます。 「新領域創成科学海外演習Ⅰ ～Ⅴ」によって 単位認定を行いたい場合、まずは指導教員にご相談ください。

東京大学では令和２（2020）年6月より授業レポート等の剽窃防止、添削・指導のためのソフトウェア（Turnitin）を導入しています。

Grades
Grade evaluation of GSFS
As a general rule, the grades of students of the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences are based on four grades: A(優/excellent), Ｂ(良/good), C(可/Fair), and D(不可/Failed). However, for classes that are not appropriate to be evaluated on a 4-point scale (guidance-like classes, etc.), these will be based on a 2-grade score of P(合格/Passed) / F(不合格/Failed).
The so-called "excellent 30% rule", in which the evaluation of excellent or higher is limited to 30% of the students taking the course, does not apply to the classes offered by GSFS.
GPA is not adopted in the University of Tokyo.
Grades and Official Transcripts of GSFS
The courses which you have not earned any credits (D/不可/Failed, F/不合格/Failed, M:未受験/Incompleted) will NOT be appeared in your official transcripts.
Grades Confirmation for Courses in the 2024 Academic Year
You can confirm your grades for GSFS courses on UTokyo Academic Affairs System (UTAS) from the following dates. Please be sure to confirm your grades every term.
Courses completed in S1 Term: from Thursday, July 4, 2024
Courses completed in S2 Term: from Wednesday, August 28, 2024
Courses completed in A1 Term: from , Wednesday, December 25, 2024
Courses completed in A2 Term: from Friday, February 28, 2025

Courses in S1 and S2 Term: Thursday, August 29 － Monday, September 2, 2024
Courses in A1 and A2 Term: Monday, March 3 － Wednesday, March 5, 2025
- If you have any questions and/or appeals about your grades of the courses provided by faculties or graduate schools other than the GSFS, please contact the relevant office of the faculty or school.
- Grades will appear on UTAS after they are determined. If you have any ungraded courses on UTAS, please wait until they appear.
Transferring Credits
Doctoral students (after the third year of enrollment) are able to transfer up to 10 credits in excess of the required number of credits in the master's program, if you completed the master's course of GSFS. You can complete the procedure credits after becoming a third grader of the doctoral program.
＜Spring Application＞
Eligible students: Students who will complete the program from October to March of the following year
Notice: Early April (on the GSFS portal bulletin board)
Application period: Mid-April to mid-May
＜Autumn Application＞
Eligible students: April-September graduates (mainly autumn graduates)
Notice: Early October of the previous year of your completion (on the GSFS portal bulletin board)
Application period: Mid-October to mid-November of the previous year
Credits for study abroad
If a student in GSFS takes courses (including both experiments and exercises) in his/her field of study at a foreign university graduate school as a result of studying abroad or taking a leave of absence (provided that the reason for the leave of absence is 'study at an overseas educational or research establishment'), the relevant department will convert credits and evaluate grades, and after a report at the Academic Management Committee(学術経営委員会), the student will be able to obtain credits that have been granted as courses in GSFS.
The GSFS grants credits for the Overseas Researches on Frontier Sciences I - V. Up to 15 credits can be awarded for study abroad. If you wish to gain credit through the Overseas Researches on Frontier Sciences I - V, please consult your supervisor first.

Plagiarism Prevention Software for Reports
Since June 2020, the University of Tokyo has introduced software (Turnitin) to prevent plagiarism of class reports.
